The contemporary art scene is receiving increasing support to bring new talent to light and stimulate creativity. Malamegi Lab, the creative laboratory of the Malamegi company, contributes to this momentum by bringing together talented artists from diverse backgrounds. As part of its ROME’24 call for entries, Malamegi Lab Art Prize invites artists to take part in an inspiring artistic competition to win prizes and discover new perspectives.
This opportunity is aimed at professional and amateur artists from a variety of artistic fields, including painting, photography, graphic design and more, offering a platform to make a name for themselves in the world of art and decoration. The Malamegi Lab Art Prize competition features an open theme, giving artists the chance to fully express their creativity and showcase their unique artistic approach.
Malamegi Lab Art Prize schedule and prizes
Following on from the entries submitted, 12 finalists will be selected and given the opportunity to take part in a final exhibition, with invitations to the opening sent to influential art players such as artists, critics, curators, journalists and local media. A general catalog will also be available during the exhibition, so that guests can explore the works on show in detail and learn more about the artists.
A first prize of €1,000.00 will be awarded to one of the selected artists, based on the quality and originality of the work exhibited. This generous award is intended to encourage the artist’s artistic evolution and aesthetic development.
The second prize consists in the acquisition by the Malamegi laboratory of one of the works of the 12 finalists. This creation will become part of the laboratory’s private collection, with a maximum purchase value of €2,000.00.
One of the 12 finalists will also receive a monographic book, produced at Malamegi Lab’s expense in collaboration with the curators of the final exhibition. Around 100 copies will be printed, 20 of which will go to the artist, with the remainder distributed by Malamegi Lab to its best collectors and clients.
