Derrick Adams is a renowned artist whose work is characterized by a unique artistic pluralism. As an exceptional visual artist, Derrick Adams expresses his thoughts and worldview through a variety of artistic methods such as painting, sculpture, video installations, collage and any other process that expresses the power of his feelings. In keeping with his artistic philosophy, Derrick Adams composes his mural “Our Time Together” with photographs of the civil rights movement from the 1950s and 1960s as well as references to MILWAUKEE havens such as the Wisconsin Black Historical Society, Gee’s Clippers and Coffee Makes You Black.
Derrick Adams‘ work reveals the societal impact on the conception of the self as well as the cohabitation between man and object. Derrick Adams evolves in a sphere of reconstruction where he undoes, reshapes, transforms, and superimposes complex and improbable forms and structures to give a clear voice to his art.
This unique and convoluted artistic imprint is noted in all of Derrick Adams‘ works.
