Kokopelli Gallery is offering “All Guts“, an exhibition featuring new works by Orowole Oluwole, Mosun Mewase, Peter Adelaja, Sotonye Large, Gbenga Adeku, Ajibo Ikechukwu, Gbenga Olawole and Julius Ugochukwu at its Lagos, Nigeria location until November 06.

All Guts” is an exhibition of various works by eight of Nigeria’s leading contemporary artists, offering a contemplation of thoughts around figuration and reflection, delivered in particular creative modalities. The title of the exhibition symbolizes the singular, adventurous approaches adopted by the participating artists, yet all inherent in the construction of new maps of meaning corresponding to the complex geographical, cultural and intellectual particularities peculiar to Nigeria, the most populous black nation on the planet.

The works presented range from painting to sheet metal aid printing, sculpture to assemblage. The artists featured in the exhibition are from the August Artist Retreat Class of 2022, the institution run by Bruce Onobrakpeya Foundation.

There is a strong correspondence between the works in “All Guts” which is headed by imaginative respectability. The two emotional parts of the exhibition are: a study that highlights unique understandings of contemporary art, and a valuable chance to induce a discussion between generations of scholars that may characterize Nigerian art in the indefinite future.
