« Le Quai de la Photo » unpack in May 2023 in Paris, a place of art committed to contemporary photography, this space will soon be secured along the banks of the Seine, in the thirteenth arrondissement of Paris.

This floating shelter will propose exhibitions, meetings with artists, basic photography courses for young people. It will also propose sea trips thanks to its marina coordinated to the boat, as well as a cooking service.

Contradicting elitist and diffusionist conceptions of art, the program of the « Quai de la Photo » will feature eminent artists as well as photographic artists of the new era. It will present the variety of artistic ways, opening its residence to young talents of the French and foreign scene.

« Le Quai de la Photo » will also highlight creative and singular practices, through unique, monographic exhibitions and competitions supervised by a committee of leading photographers. By defending a decompartmentalized vision of contemporary photography , “Le Quai de la Photo” intends to make this space a place of exchange and sharing.

Throughout the late spring, the exhibition space will extend to the porch of the structure, animated by the comings and goings of the travel boats. A true connection point between institutions, occupants and experts, the space intends to advance the mixing of crowds and the proximity of facilitators.

The founders of the « Quai de la Photo » have set the stage for adaptability and measured quality, for movement and advancement of the waterway, the absolute opposite of sedentarization.

Find an exhibition, learn about visual expressions, have a drink, stroll through a photography bookshop… There are plenty of opportunities to visit « Le Quai de la Photo ».
