The Black Rock Senegal artist residency programme announces the opening of applications for the 2024-2025 cycle. Artists wishing to take part in the residency are invited to submit their applications on the website set up for this purpose before 23:59 (EST) on 15 January 2024.
Black Rock is a multidisciplinary artist-in-residence programme created in 2019 by world-renowned artist Kehinde Wiley. Each year, the residency brings together international artists living in Dakar, for stays of 1 to 3 months. The aim of the programme? To support emerging artistic innovation through collaborative exchange and to encourage change in the global discourse on Africa.
To take part in Black Rock Senegal 2024, applicants must provide :
- A letter of motivation
- An up-to-date CV
- A portfolio (works, description and images)
The above application documents are available via the residency programme’s online application form. As the original application platform has changed, the organisers will notify the creation of a new account in order to closely monitor your application and make any necessary updates. Applying to take part in the Black Rock Senegal 2024 residency is completely free of charge and is open to anyone over the age of 18. Ultimately, submitting your application to the programme involves :

- Following the instructions for completing the online application form and uploading the documents, including a covering letter, CV and portfolio.
