After the discovery of talents in its various spaces around the world with “About Now #1“, the Cécile Fakhoury Gallery of Abidjan presents “About Now #2” until September 10, 2022 in its main space.
“About Now #2” unveils through its second edition emerging artists from Africa and elsewhere as Assoukrou AKÉ, Maymouna BARADJI, Josué COMOE, Kader DIABY, Eva DIALLO, Linda DOUNIA REBEIZ, Rachel MARSIL, Dior THIAM, Béliza TROUPÉ.
This exhibition reaffirms one of the founding implications of the character of the Cécile Fakhoury Gallery : its support for artistic creativity and its desire to salute African creation, by honoring the artists of tomorrow in Africa, and those of the African diaspora.
This exhibition brings together six women and three men whose average age does not exceed thirty years and is imagined as an emotional scene, a non-exhaustive proposal to capture the dreams of these young specialists, their insight, their relationship to custom, the questioning of frames of thought or the redefinition of a delicate relationship with nature.
In a universe of elements where discontinuity and independence are the main control devices, “About Now #2” decides to praise the qualities of the whole by inviting people in general to look beyond established geologies to reaffirm the meaning of a common and global space.
